Well folks, the time has come again to update your WordPress sites. And, like always, the update isn’t really optional, since it covers some security issues in addition to bug fixes.
I love WordPress – it’s easy to use, flexible, has a large and robust user community, and best of all – it’s free. The free aspect makes me hesitate to complain, because how can I dare to complain when the people at WordPress are constantly investing in improving the platform.
Let’s call this “constructive criticism.” As far as I can recall, I have never before used software that needs to be updated so frequently. And these updates are not simple, especially for someone that manages more than one site. WordPress upgrades are delicate procedures that involve backing everything up, deactivating plugins, and praying for a smooth upgrade.
So WordPress people – can you maybe try to reduce the number of upgrades? That would certainly make my life easier, and I’m sure there are a lot of people out there who feel the same.
Why is it that WordPress is constantly fixing security problems?
