Method for speeding up Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a popular tool used by web owners to monitor their site statistics. It can be easily installed on WordPress using any one of a number of plugins designed for that purpose. However, it can slow down the performance of your site, especially on a CMS system like WordPress.

HowtoForge presents a method for speeding up your site by using crontab to execute a shell script that downloads an updated urchin.js file every 24 hours and saves it into your local sites directory. I have no idea what this means, and it actually seems really scary, but if any of you know what this means, this might be helpful.
