It works like a charm. I previously had my forum setup to display YouTube videos when the URL's were wrapped in [youtube] tags, but most of the time people forgot or couldn't remember how to. It would be important to make sure there's a way to escape the link in case you want to display the link by itself though. I use a mod for SMF which does that. It works like a charm. So far I have something working for WMV and MP3 files, but I was also considering doing one for Youtube as well.
