@K Stone (Kris) - I just posted a new post dedicated to different ways to optimize your WordPress blog. The main thing is that WordPress on its own is a CPU hog, so you should install at least one caching plugin, and it may do the trick.

As for which plugin is better, I don't have an opinion. The best is to try one, and see if it does what you need.

As for SRG Archives - I got it to work by following the instructions. You can see it on the archive page here. What problems are you having?

Hi Miriam,
Nice extensive list here! I have a few questions for you.

I found your post because I was looking for a way to optimize my SQL database as my web host says the load is too high. (It's not a traffic issue. They think it's all the plugins I'm using. About 30 of them which is less than what you have listed here.)

So
1.Do you find that having so many plugins slows down your wordpress sites? Does it create problems with your web host?

2. You mention Optimize DB. Do you know if this is the best one? I also found another one called WP-DBManager 2.20. Do you know how these two compare?

3. How did you get SRG ARchives to work with Wordpress 2.3? I couldn't get it to work. I loved that plugin before I upgraded.

Thanks!!!
