I had prvilages granted to my sql and the new database and yes it was created correctly.  this whole thing is not even worth it. Nothng works. I put everything in the wordpress directory correct (sample folder)  So who had any ideas as I a m out of them.  I uninstalled everything until someone comes up with a step by step with troubleshooting ideas that a layman can understand. I simply want this on my desktop so I can learn wordpress before going live with it on a website. I am done here unless someone can walk me through ALL troubleshooting techniques.
